About
alexandra caruso
Alex grew up in wild wild Dorchester, not far from Myers+Chang. Her love of all things culinary began as a young child, where she could often be found mixing anything within reach in the kitchen to make “delicious gifts” for mom and dad. After high school she began an epic tour of colleges and majors (Communications, Education, Photography, Communications, Education, Photography...) including one very ill-advised stint in art school, which led her to believe she hadn't yet found her calling.
In September of 2005 her parents encouraged her to just get a job already, so she signed on as a hostess at a restaurant close to home. Here, everything came together. One holiday weekend, as happens occasionally, the restaurant sort of fell apart. Exercising previously untapped multitasking and problem solving talents, what threatened to be an evening of short-staffed set-backs and general chaos was magically transformed into a room full of happy guests. The exhilaration Alex felt at having taken part in this process convinced her she’d found her niche. Since then, she has served, managed and most recently spent 4 years as Maitre'D at The Beehive.
She is utterly charmed to be an ingredient in the
Myers+Chang recipe.
