The Return of Supper 88: a Lunar New Year Celebration

Ring in the Year of the Rooster with Chef Karen Akunowicz at Myers+Chang. We have brought back our Supper 88 Club for Lunar New Year. This Chef's Table dinner includes 6 courses (including dessert from Flour Bakery!) with wine pairings. Tax and Gratuity included.

Myers+Chang Turns 9 (!!!) Years Old on September 17th!

We can hardly belive our little baby restaurant is so big and grown up! To celebrate the Chang-aversary we'll be drawing on the lucky power of #9, known as "jiu" in Chinese! "Jiu" is also the word for beer or wine, which we're making a part of our celerbration!  For the whole week leading up to our actual Changday, you can get  9 Island Creek Oysters with Cava-Quince Snow or sip on the spicy Jiu Dragon cocktail. 

Thank you so much for a spectacular first nine years-- we look forward to the next!

Chef Karen is at "Sunday Supper Jubilee"

M+C fans in Washington D.C. can catch Chef Karen at Union Market on Sunday, June 5th! She joins an all-star gathering of chefs to support the James Beard Foundation and the Executive Education Program for Women in Culinary Leadership. There will also be plenty of cocktails and live music!

Congratulations to Our Chefs! 

We couldn't be prouder to call Joanne Chang and Karen Akunowicz our own! They've are both semi-finalists for James Beard Awards for the second year in a row! Chef Joanne has been named in the Outstanding Baker category, and Chef Karen for Best Chef: Northeast. 

A huge congratulations to them, and to the other Boston-area nominees. It's quite a talented city, and we're so happy to be a part of it!

Super Bowl Takeout Packages are Back!

Myers+Chang wants to be a part of your Super Bowl Party! We're now accepting pre-orders for our super-popular takeout package. Not watching the Super Bowl? Maybe Feb 7th is just a regular Sunday night? Well, now you have a reason to get the family together, or invite some friends over!

This year's menu will feed 4-6 people and includes:

Indonesian Fried Chicken with two dipping sauces
Edamame Guacamole + La Nina Tortilla Chips
Grilled Corn in Sriracha Butter
Green Papaya Slaw
Chinese Mustard Potato Salad
Flour Bakery Football Oreos

New Year's Eve at Myers+Chang!

This year we'll be offering two different dining options to ring in 2016!

Chef Karen will be presenting a banquet-style dinner, paired with some of our favorite wine, cocktails and sake. Courses will include Scallop Ceviche, Tea-Brined Chicken and Lobster in XO Sauce. This special dinner will be served at 6pm and 8pm. Seats are $88 per person (not including tax and gratuity) and are very limited!

For dinner in the dining room, we'll be serving our full menu plus some delightful dim sum. We're also taking reservations for the coveted bar seats at the open kitchen-- the most exciting seats in the house!

Chef Karen to be on the upcoming season of Top Chef!

Soon everyone will know what we realized a long time ago: Myers+Chang has a star for a Chef! Season 13 of Bravo's Top Chef will feature Myers+Chang's very own Karen Akunowicz.  You'll get to see her compete in challenges all over California starting on Dec. 2nd at 10pm. We could not be prouder...or more excited!

Eat Chef Karen's "Celebrity Chef Dog" creation to support Share Our Strength!

From August 3rd to 24th, Kirkland Tap & Trotter will be serving up a hot dog created by our own Karen Akunowicz! The collaboration with Chef Tony Maws is part of a series being served every Monday this summer. Proceeds will be going to support Share Our Strength, and the wonderful work they do to combat childhood hunger all over the nation.

The James Beard House is hosting a dinner on Tuesday, July 7th at 7pm. Created by talented Boston chefs, the menu focuses on summer's seasonal delicacy: softshell crab! You can check out all the courses and get tickets at the link here.

Joanne Chang is an UberChef!

The popular car service, Uber, teamed up with No Kid Hungry and Share Our Strength (one of our favorite organizations!) in Boston. Joanne Chang helped to create a fantastic winter menu for the luck recipients of Friday night's dinner. It was the first time Uber has reached out this way to their national community, and we hope to see more of it.

Myers+Chang at Harvest Fest 2014

On Sunday, October 5th, the corner of Waltham and Tremon Streets in the South End turns into an all-day festival with demos, contests, dancing and plenty of food and drink. We're so thrilled to be a part of this event, as it's a favorite every fall! Click here for more details and tickets.


Chef Karen at Friend's of Boston's Homeless Fall Harvest Dinner on September 25th

This intimate, four-course dinner will benefit Friends of Boston's Homeless and celebrate the bounty of The Farm. From their website:

"The Farm at Boston's Long Island Shelter helps feed the bodies, minds, and spirits of some of Boston’s most vulnerable residents by providing beautiful organic produce for the shelter's kitchen and paid work experience for homeless individuals as part of the Serving Ourselves Program. We had such a great time with this very special dinner at Lunar New Year that we've decided to do it again! Supper 88 is a communal dining experience, reserved by the seat,  with a 5 course, family-style menu from Chef Karen Akunowicz. $88 per gets you the full menu, presented by Chef Karen, as well as paired libations and treats (gratuity not included). Lovin' Spoonfuls Pop-Up Dinner featuring James Beard Award Finalists and Winners

Andrew Zimmern, Jamie Bissonnette, Matthew Jennings and our own Joanne Chang are teaming up on June 10th in support of Lovin' Spoonfuls. They'll be making a delicious meal at the New England Center for Arts and Technology-- for you! Meet the chefs at a cocktail party at 6pm, with dinner following at 8pm.

Joanne Chang to be honored at "A Taste & A Toast"!

The Forsyth Institute is recognizing Joanne Chang's "commitment and support of local non-profits" with the Smile Award for Community Service. We're so proud of her!
